The film Sand Drawings was shot during an artist residence at the Nida Art Colony on the Curonian Spit in Lithuania. The spit is a 98-kilometre long, thin, curved sand-dune that that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. The Sand Drawings are traced by the wind as it blows over the spit with full force. Moving branches and straws of grass back and forth the wind draws shapes into the sand with geometric perfection. The process of these drawings are only revealed to the viewer after closer look.
